A decal sheet in 1:72 scale focused on Focke-Wulf Fw 190 machines operated outside their original air force. It is an accessory for a build: the set holds decals, not plastic parts. The part two designation means that it follows on from an earlier sheet on the same theme, so the two sets complement each other and do not overlap.
The Fw 190 was a single-engine fighter of all-metal construction that came about at the end of the 1930s. The early versions were powered by an air-cooled radial engine, while the later series got a liquid-cooled engine with a markedly lengthened nose. The aircraft was built in many production versions, from fighters through fighter-bombers to specialized variants. Some machines also reached operators other than the original air force, whether by wartime delivery, by capture, or through postwar production and testing. Machines of exactly that kind are the theme of this sheet.
Lay the decals on a smooth gloss surface. A matte finish has a microscopic texture, air is held in it under a decal and the so-called silvering appears. The procedure is simple: paint, gloss varnish, decals, softener, gloss varnish again and finally a matte or satin finish to suit the look you want. Trim the sheet as close to the artwork as possible, so that as little carrier film as possible is left. Release a decal from the paper only once it has soaked up water, and move it with a brush, not with your fingers. On areas with rivets and pressings use a softener, so that the decal settles into the relief.
The package holds decals only. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
