The Boxer is among the most distinctive European armored vehicles of the present day, and in the small scale its tall angular silhouette and the arrangement of eight driven wheels stand out well. The model is supplied to be glued and painted.
The GTK Boxer is a wheeled armored vehicle with drive to all eight wheels, developed in international cooperation for the needs of European armies. Its main difference from ordinary carriers is the modular concept: the vehicle consists of a drive module, which carries the engine, the transmission, the axles and the driver's station, and of an interchangeable mission module that determines the role of the vehicle. Depending on the module fitted, the same chassis thus serves as an infantry carrier or as an ambulance, command or workshop vehicle. The A2 designation refers to a later production standard with modifications compared with the first series. The vehicle is conceived for moves under its own power over long distances and puts the emphasis on protection of the crew against mines and improvised explosive devices.
Give the main attention to the chassis: the eight wheels have to rest on one plane, otherwise the model visibly limps in the display case. Fit the wheels dry and let the glue set on a flat board. Fill and sand the seams on the large smooth sides of the hull, because every imperfection shows under a uniform coat. Paint over a primer, spray the modern European shades with an airbrush in thin layers and liven up the uniform surface with a subtle lightening of the centers of the panels. Keep the weathering restrained — vehicles in service tend to be dusty rather than rusty, so a thin wash into the seams and dust pigments on the wheels and the lower edges will do.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
