Responsibility details are not available.
A finished collector model of the piston-engined H-34 Choctaw transport helicopter in Belgian Air Force markings. The maker is Easy Model and the model arrives completely assembled and painted, markings included. It is not a kit: it goes straight from the box into a display case, with no glue, paints, filler or primer coat.
The H-34 Choctaw belongs to the generation of helicopters with a piston radial engine, which is housed in the nose of the fuselage. The power is transmitted by a shaft led at an angle upward under the pilot's cabin, and the cabin therefore sits high above the cargo compartment. From that follow its characteristic deep rounded nose, high tail boom and roomy cabin reached through side doors. The type appeared in the middle of the 1950s and in Europe it served mainly in the transport, liaison and rescue roles; the Belgian Air Force was among its users.
The color scheme and the national insignia are applied in production, so the model keeps a unified look and there is no risk of the shades drifting apart. In 1:72 scale the helicopter is fairly bulky, so it stands out in a display case on its own, or in a row of other piston-engined machines, where the difference from the later turbine designs is clearly visible. Place the model out of direct sun, which changes the shade of the finish and the printing over time. Remove the dust from the rotor blades with a soft brush, not with a cloth, as the thin blades and antennas are easily bent.
The model is supplied finished, assembled and painted. Nothing is glued or painted.
