Injection-molded plastic kit of the Handley Page Victor B.2 in 1:72 scale from Airfix, the British strategic bomber and one of the V-bombers.
Responsibility details are not available.
A large injection-molded plastic kit of the British Handley Page Victor B.2 strategic bomber in 1:72 scale from Airfix. The model captures the characteristic crescent wing and the massive airframe of one of the three British V-bombers. In this scale it is a large and complex kit. Check the actual package contents and the decal options against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Victor was one of the three British jet strategic bombers (the V-bombers, together with the Vulcan and the Valiant) that carried the British nuclear deterrent during the Cold War. Its hallmarks were the crescent leading edge of the wing and the high-set tail surfaces. The B.2 version had more powerful engines and a modified wing for flight at high altitude. Later, many of the aircraft were converted into aerial tankers.
Given the size of the model, build it in subassemblies and take care that the joints between the large parts are firm and true. Paint the cockpit and the landing gear bays before closing them up. Aircraft on nuclear alert wore a light anti-flash finish, while later schemes were camouflaged; after the gloss coat and the decals, pick out the panel lines with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
