A set of photo-etched parts for models of the Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIc fighter in 1:72 scale. It brings detail at a thickness injection-molded plastic cannot manage.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hawker Hurricane was a British single-seat fighter of the Second World War and in the Battle of Britain it shot down more machines than any other British type. In construction it still belonged to the older school: the basis of the fuselage was a welded tube frame, which in the rear section was covered by fabric over wooden stringers. That is exactly why a damaged Hurricane was repaired more quickly than an all-metal airframe. The Mk.IIc configuration carried four 20 mm cannons in the wing, that is markedly heavier armament than the machine guns of the first versions, and it was used for attacks against ground targets and on night patrols as well.
These are photo-etched parts for 1:72 scale. Photo-etched sheet is thin and carries fine detail that an injection-molded part in this scale does not reach, so it is used where plastic is too coarse for the scale. Which parts of the model the set covers and where the parts belong are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with nippers, otherwise the thin sheet buckles. Make the bends over the edge of a bending tool or a ruler, so that they are sharp. They glue with super glue in a minute quantity, and on larger areas epoxy has proved itself, because it gives time to true a part up. Before painting, degrease the sheet and lay on a primer intended for metal. Set the small parts out on a light surface, as they get lost on a dark one.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
