Resin correction set for the Handley Page Halifax B Mk.V in 1:72 scale — a set of parts from the Czech manufacturer AML for a faithful build of the fifth version of the British four-engine bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
This correction set from the Czech brand AML is meant for modelers who want to build a faithful B Mk.V version in 1:72 scale from a Halifax kit. The package holds resin parts only (the Resin Parts only form), which correct and supplement the features characteristic of the fifth version. On a large four-engine model it is a worthwhile investment, as the differences between the Halifax versions are visible at a glance and the experts look for them.
The Handley Page Halifax was, alongside the Lancaster, the second pillar of the British night bomber force. The B Mk.V version was based on the Mk.II with Rolls-Royce Merlin engines, but it differed above all in its Dowty landing gear, introduced because of the limited production capacity for the original Messier gear. Mk.V aircraft served with bomber and coastal squadrons, and a number of them also flew as glider tugs and as aircraft for airborne operations.
With a correction set patience pays off: try every part in place dry first, and only cut and glue once the fit is confirmed. Remove the casting blocks with a fine saw, do the sanding with your airways protected and glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Larger parts are best secured with wire pins, as on a four-engine model handling will test the joints.
The accessory is supplied as unpainted resin castings and requires a base kit of the aircraft. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
