An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from ACE. The model captures a light off-road vehicle on a Unimog chassis adapted for special forces long-range reconnaissance patrols. Besides the plastic parts, the set also contains a photo-etched fret and a decal sheet. The fine detail and the open structure make this short-run kit a rewarding if more demanding model.
The vehicle is based on an off-road Unimog adapted for special forces operations: a simplified cab with no fixed roof, modified doors and the windshield replaced by folding armored windows. A weapon station with a heavy machine gun is mounted on the bed, supplemented by further machine guns for fire to the sides. A machine equipped this way is used for long patrols in remote terrain.
Finish the frame, the chassis and the interior of the open cab first, and only then add the superstructures. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply the base coat with an airbrush over primer; an open vehicle comes into its own with depth shading and with dust pigments on the running gear and the underside. Paint the equipment and the weapons separately for better contrast.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The photo-etched parts are included in the set; glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package.
