This is a turned metal barrel in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer Aber. It replaces the plastic barrel of the German 105 mm light field howitzer of the leFH 18 type with a barrel length of 28 calibers. It is not a model of a gun but a detail accessory, which gives a build an exact circular section, fine surface detail and a hollow muzzle.
The 10.5 cm leFH 18 light field howitzer was the standard divisional howitzer of the German army throughout the Second World War. It served for the fire support of the infantry, towed by horse team and by motor tractors alike, and it also became the basis for self-propelled solutions. Characteristic is the fairly short barrel with a prominent breech block.
Cut off the plastic barrel at the point where it sits in the cradle and level the opening carefully. Fit the metal part dry, check the axis and only then fix it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) on a degreased surface. Before painting, lay a base coat meant for metals onto the metal. On artillery it pays to suggest the wear of the paint on the barrel with a dry brush and a light dust shade.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
