The LF-107 Lunak is a Czech single-seat glider designed for aerobatics. It is among the best known machines of postwar Czechoslovak glider production and is still flown at air displays today. On a glider the cockpit has a large share in the overall impression of a model, because the canopy makes up a substantial part of the front half of the fuselage and is visible from every side.
This is a clear cockpit canopy in 1:72 scale intended as a replacement for the part from a kit. The open-closed designation in the name refers to both positions of the canopy, that is the open and the closed one; how many parts the package contains and how they are adjusted for each variant is stated in the manufacturer's instructions. A replacement clear part tends to be thinner than the original one and the view through the cockpit looks more natural. On a glider in this scale that shows all the more, because behind the canopy there is nothing to hide the view into the cockpit.
Take the clear part in your hand as little as possible, and preferably through a soft cloth, because fingerprints are hard to remove from it. Cyanoacrylate glue is not suitable for clear parts, because it fogs them; use a glue intended for clear surfaces. The frame is masked before spraying, not after the paint has dried, and take the mask off while the paint is still freshly dry. If the part does not seat perfectly, adjust the seat in the fuselage rather than the canopy itself.
It will be appreciated by modelers whose finished kit has a canopy that does not fit, or who want to build a model with the canopy open. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
