The masking set 1:72 Lockheed C-130J-30 Hercules from the Czech manufacturer Eduard serves to cover the glazing while painting the model of the stretched C-130J-30 transport aircraft in 1:72 scale.

This is a masking set, not an airplane model. It holds pre-cut masks intended for the model of the Lockheed C-130J-30 Hercules transport aircraft in 1:72 scale. The C-130J-30 version is the stretched variant of the modernized Hercules, so the set aims specifically at this guise of the machine, not at older or shorter versions.
The masks are stuck onto the clear parts before spraying, cover the glass and leave only the frames exposed, which are painted together with the rest of the airframe. The Hercules has extensive cockpit glazing including side and lower windows, so masking it by hand is unpleasantly slow and the result tends to be irregular. Pre-cut masks save time and, above all, guarantee that all the frames come out the same width.
First wash the clear parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry. Lift the masks off with tweezers and press them down around the perimeter with a toothpick, so that no paint runs under the edge. Lay the first coat on in the interior shade or in primer, which seals the edge. Then spray in thin coats at right angles to the edge of the mask. On a large transport aircraft it pays to keep the cockpit as a separate subassembly and to join it to the fuselage only after unmasking, so that no sanding dust gets under the tape. Remove the masks shortly after the paint has dried and before varnishing. Check that the set matches your Hercules kit in 1:72 scale before ordering.
This is an accessory, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
