A detailed injection-molded plastic kit of the American medium tank Sherman M4A3E8, nicknamed the Easy Eight, in its Korean War form, in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Dragon. The model comes out for the 70th anniversary of the conflict. The HVSS suspension is reproduced from several parts for maximum accuracy, and the tracks match the T80 type. A marked strength is the quality of the decals — among them the striking painting of teeth and eyes on the front of the hull.
The M4A3E8 Easy Eight was the peak of Sherman development: it received a welded hull, a longer 76 mm gun and wider tracks on the HVSS suspension, which improved cross-country ability and handling. It reached units at the end of 1944 and in the Korean War it remained the most widespread American tank, fighting alongside the M26 Pershing and M46 Patton. Reliability and good mobility made it a proven machine right into the fifties.
In 1:72 scale, pay attention to clean seams on the hull and the turret and to careful cleanup of the running gear parts. Assemble the HVSS suspension first, then close up the hull. Use a primer and an airbrush; build the olive green up in layers and lay the striking decals over a gloss base, so that no silvery rim appears. Finish the weathering with a wash into the recesses, drybrushing on the edges and dust pigments on the underside and the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
