A finished collector model of the Me 262A jet aircraft in 1:72 scale from the firm Easy Model. The model comes out of the box completely assembled and painted, with the national insignia and stencil markings already applied. It is not a kit: nothing is glued, filled or sprayed. It is enough to take it out of the box and stand it on a shelf.
The Me 262 was the first aircraft with jet propulsion to be built in series and committed to combat. It was powered by a pair of axial-flow turbojets in nacelles under the wing, whose leading edge had a slight sweep. The single-seat fighter version of the A series carried gun armament concentrated in the nose of the fuselage. After the end of the fighting in Europe the Allied countries took over several surviving machines for technical evaluation of the flying qualities and the powerplant. These aircraft flew with trials units remarked for a new operator, that is exactly in the spirit of the standard this model captures.
In 1:72 scale the model stays compact and fits even into a smaller glazed display case beside other machines of the same scale. The factory finish is matte to satin, and the color transitions and the markings are applied in production, so the model looks consistent and needs no finishing work. For a collector who concentrates on trials and remarked machines of the postwar period it is a rewarding example, because the unusual markings set the model apart from ordinary standards of the same type.
The model is supplied finished, assembled and painted. No glue, paints or tools are needed. Protect the model from dust and from direct sun, which changes the shade of the finish over time.
