Masks in 1:72 scale for the moving surfaces of a model of the Mitsubishi A6M3 model 32 Reisen carrier fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mitsubishi A6M was a carrier fighter of the Imperial Japanese Navy, known in Japan as the Reisen. The model 32 is the version you will know by its shortened wing with square tips; the folding tips of the original wing were dropped on it. With a more powerful engine its speed and rate of climb rose, but the shorter wing with a smaller fuel load cut the range, which told so much in the fighting over the vast Pacific that the following model 22 restored the long wing.
The masks define the outline of the moving surfaces, that is, the ailerons, the elevator and the rudder. On the real aircraft these had fabric covering and differed from the aluminum skin of the surrounding surfaces in both shade and surface texture. Spraying over a mask gives that difference a sharp boundary that freehand work will not achieve. Which surfaces the set covers exactly, and which kit it is cut for, is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Lay the mask onto a dry, clean and degreased surface and press it down around the whole perimeter. Spray the paint in thin coats. Lift it soon after the paint has dried, pulling at a low angle.
The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
