1:72 Mitsubishi J8M Shusui is a Dead Design masking set for the canopy glazing in 1:72 scale. An accessory for a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the canopy glazing of a model in 1:72 scale. It is an accessory for the painting stage, not a model of the aircraft. The masks are applied to the clear parts, the frames are sprayed over them and they are peeled off once the paint has dried.
The Mitsubishi J8M Shusui was a Japanese rocket interceptor developed at the end of the Second World War on the basis of a German design with a liquid-propellant rocket engine. It was a small tailless aircraft with a swept wing that never reached operational service. For a modeler that means a compact shape with a short cockpit and a fairly small but intricate canopy.
In 1:72 the whole canopy is barely over a centimeter long and the individual pieces of the mask correspond to the size of the glazing panes. It pays to work over a light surface so that a small piece does not disappear, and to lift the pieces from the sheet with the tip of a scalpel, not with your fingers. Press the mask into the corners with a toothpick, because that is where the film most often fails to touch the surface and paint runs underneath. Once it is applied, look the model over in sharp side light, as leaky edges then show up as a thin line of shadow.
This is an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
