A resin diorama accessory in 1:72 scale from MIG Productions. The package contains pillars, that is, vertical structural elements that belong to the modular system of diorama walls. It is not a vehicle model and not a finished building; the pillars serve as an accessory for the base wall sections, which are obtained separately.
Industrial halls and factory facades have a typical regular rhythm given precisely by pillars and piers. By adding pillars a wall therefore stops looking like a bare surface and gains a credible architectural logic. The pillars also suit as a standalone element of a scene: they can carry the remnant of a structure in ruins, form the support of a canopy or mark the entrance to a compound. With wall sections, added-height sections and the roof part of the same line they can be put together into an object of any length according to the dimension of the base.
First wash the resin parts with lukewarm water and dish soap to remove the mold release agent from the mold. Cut the sprue gates and the casting blocks off with a saw and level the mating surfaces on abrasive paper, wet and with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and on larger joints two-part epoxy is more reliable; fill the gaps and roughen them so that the transition fits into the structure of the masonry. After spraying a primer, a base shade with an airbrush works well, together with the lightening of the surfaces with a dry brush, a dark wash in the joints and finally pigments for dust, lime efflorescence and dirt at the base of the wall.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base diorama board are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
