A New Ware masking set at the BASIC level for a model of the German Mistel 1 combination in 1:72 scale. The masks are cut from kabuki (washi) tape, they follow the shapes of the frames exactly and lift off with no adhesive residue. The BASIC level covers above all the glazing of both cockpits and the wheel tires.
Mistel 1 was a German composite combination of the Second World War in which an unmanned, remotely guided Junkers Ju 88 A bomber filled with explosive carried a Messerschmitt Bf 109 F fighter on its back. The pilot in the upper fighter aimed the combination at the target, then released the lower bomber and steered it against a target on land or at sea.
The combination has two separate sets of glazing, so match the masks carefully to the right aircraft. Lay the mask on degreased areas, mask the lower parts with tape and apply the paint in thin coats. Mask the wheels before the tires are sprayed.
These are self-adhesive painting masks, not a model. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package.
