An injection molded kit of a modern armored personnel carrier in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Dragon. The parts are of polystyrene, they are glued with cement for plastic and the model is painted once it has been assembled. The small scale means less filling than in 1:35, but greater demands on fine work — small parts are easily lost and a thick coat of paint floods the engraved detail.
The ZSL-10 is the transport version from the family of Chinese eight-wheeled armored vehicles. The vehicle carries an infantry squad in the rear compartment with a raised roof, which is apparent even in the silhouette, and it tends to be fitted with a one-man turret with a heavy machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber. The chassis with eight driven wheels is adapted for fast movement on the road and in the field, and the vehicle is amphibious — propulsion in the water is provided by water jets at the rear. The family of eight-wheeled vehicles forms a whole row of versions in the Chinese army, from carriers to self-propelled weapons.
Do not break the parts off the frame, but cut them off with nippers and level the remains of the gate with a sharp knife — in 1:72 every stub is visible. Glue the wheels on only after the chassis has been painted; you will save yourself masking the tires. Paint with an airbrush at low pressure and with thinned paint in thin coats; one thick coat would flood the panel lines in this scale. Keep the weathering in check — a fine wash into the pressed details, a light dry brush on the edges and discreet dust on the wheels and the lower hull look more credible than pronounced effects carried over from the large scales.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
