The Kits-World 1:72 decal sheet of RAF code letters 28 inches high contains a set of identification letters and numerals for British aircraft. It serves for assembling any combination of code on a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This sheet is not intended for one particular type of aircraft. It contains separate identification letters and numerals of the Royal Air Force of a height corresponding to 28 inches in reality, converted into 1:72 scale. From them a modeler assembles exactly the combination of code he needs, which is practical if you are building a machine whose markings are in no finished sheet, or if you want to repair a damaged decal from a box.
The Royal Air Force used code letters on the sides of the fuselage to distinguish the squadron and the individual machine. Their size differed over time and according to the type of aircraft, which is why sheets are issued in several height forms. The height of 28 inches is among the larger formats and is suitable where a fuselage has enough free area. If you are not sure of the right size for your machine, go by a period photograph or by the kit instructions.
With large-area decals it pays to prepare fine guide marks on the model with a pencil or masking tape, so that the letters sit at the same height on both sides of the fuselage. Lay a large decal onto a well moistened area, so that it can still be slid, and press the excess water out from the center toward the edges with a soft cloth. Apply the letters one after another and step back from the model as you go to check the spacing, since once a large decal has dried you will not move it any more.
This is a decal sheet, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
