An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Royal Aircraft Factory BE2c biplane in 1:72 scale from Airfix. The package holds plastic parts, a clear part and decals. The model captures the typical reconnaissance and observation aircraft of the First World War with its pair of lifting surfaces and open cockpits. It is a rewarding build that suits less experienced modelers with an interest in early aviation too.
The BE2c was a British two-seat biplane used in the First World War above all for reconnaissance, observation and artillery spotting. It was designed as an exceptionally stable machine, which suited it for observation but made it far from agile. With the arrival of the first fighters it therefore became an easy target. Even so it served in large numbers and is one of the characteristic aircraft of the beginning of the air war.
Glue the parts with a thin plastic cement and sand the seams down. On a biplane, pay attention to the seating of the upper wing and the struts; a dry fit and patience help. Paint the fabric surfaces with an airbrush and bring out the wooden parts with glazes. The bracing wires can be added with a thin thread or with stretched sprue. Finish the completed model with a matte varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
