An injection-molded plastic kit of the self-propelled S-125 Neva-SC surface-to-air missile system on the heavy MAZ-543 chassis in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer A&A Models. It is a richly broken down set with a great many parts, cab doors that can be built separately (open or closed) and enclosed masks for the glazing and the wheels. The decals cover several marking options.
The S-125 (NATO reporting name SA-3 Goa) was a Soviet surface-to-air missile system for low and medium altitudes that complemented the systems intended for high altitudes. The Neva-SC version represents a later upgrade in which the launcher and the missiles were moved onto the self-propelled wheeled chassis of the heavy MAZ-543 vehicle, which gave the system better mobility. Upgraded sets of this type were operated by a number of armies.
First assemble and fine-tune the chassis and the wheel suspension, so that the vehicle stands correctly. Glue the joints with liquid cement for plastic and use the enclosed masks on the cab glazing and the tires. Paint with an airbrush and deal with the tires and the missiles separately. Final weathering with washes and pigments will emphasize the breakdown of the large vehicle and suggest the dust of service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
