Peewit - die-cut painting masks for the Spitfire Mk.22 and Mk.24, 1:72 scale is a self-adhesive masking set for plastic models, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A precisely die-cut self-adhesive masking set from the manufacturer Peewit for plastic models of the late Supermarine Spitfire fighter in the Mk.22 and Mk.24 versions in 1:72 scale. It is not a model and not a kit but a painting accessory bought separately. The stencils are cut to the shape of the canopy glazing and of other places on the model, so you spray the frames with crisp edges and the laborious fitting and cutting of masking tape falls away. The material adapts to the curve of the canopy and leaves no glue behind when removed.
The Spitfire Mk.22 and Mk.24 were the last, Griffon-powered variants of the famous British fighter. Against the earlier Merlin machines they were substantially heavier and more powerful, with a cut-down rear fuselage and a bubble canopy that improved the view. The Mk.24 was the very last version of the Spitfire built, with an increased fuel capacity. They entered service after the Second World War and flew into the early 1950s.
First degrease the transparent parts. Lift the masks with tweezers, lay them exactly into the frames and press the edges down with a toothpick against paint running under them. It pays to spray the color of the inner frame first, then the primer and finally the camouflage. Take the masks off while the coat of paint is still fresh, so that it does not flake.
This is a masking set, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
