Kabuki masks TA-4J/F and OA-4M Skyhawk - BASIC level, 1:72 (New Ware)

A set of precisely cut masking templates of kabuki paper (washi) for spraying the glazing and the wheels of the two-seat Skyhawk in the TA-4J, TA-4F and OA-4M versions, 1:72 scale. The BASIC level covers the glazing of the long two-seat cockpit, further clear parts and the wheels. It is not a kit but an aid for clean and quick painting.

The real subject

The two-seat versions of the Skyhawk served mainly for training (the TA-4J and TA-4F) and as forward air control aircraft (the OA-4M). Compared with the single-seat machines they have a lengthened fuselage and a longer, two-piece canopy with the seats in tandem.

Usage tips

• Mask the longer two-seat canopy field by field so that every frame fits.
• Undercoat the frames in the interior shade, then apply the exterior color.
• Kabuki paper follows the curved canopy and leaves no adhesive behind when removed.
• Remove the mask while the paint has only flashed off, for a crisp edge.
