Photo-etched metal seats for American aircraft in 1:72 scale, made as universal parts usable on more than one type.
Responsibility details are not available.
Photo-etched metal seats for models of American aircraft in 1:72 scale. The name lists them as universal, that is they are not cut for a single type but suit anywhere the shape matches the subject. At a small scale the seat from a kit is usually just a coarse block; a photo-etched part has the thickness of real sheet metal, so the crisp edges and thin walls correspond to reality considerably better.
The parts are separated from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not by twisting: cut through the tabs and sand the remaining stub with fine paper. The folds run along marked score lines, and bending is done with a bender or with the edge of a razor blade pressed to the line, always in one movement. The parts are glued with cyanoacrylate glue; cement for polystyrene has no effect on metal. Degrease the photo-etch before painting and apply a base coat, otherwise paint will not hold on smooth metal and will rub off during handling.
It suits a modeler who builds in 1:72 scale and wants something other than a coarsely shaped block in the cockpit, but does not want to buy a set tied to a single type of aircraft. Before buying, compare the shape of the seat with photographs of the subject you are building; a universal part fits a number of machines, but not all of them. Working with photo-etch at this scale calls for tweezers, good light and a steady hand.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The number of parts and the recommended application are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
