A detailed short-run kit of the Soviet ZiS-5 truck with a heavy DShK machine gun fitted in the anti-aircraft role. Zebrano specializes in smaller collector kits, which often combine injection-molded plastic with fine resin parts. The model is intended rather for more experienced builders who want an unusual rendering of Soviet hardware for their collection.
The ZiS-5 was one of the most widespread Soviet trucks of the Second World War: simple, durable and easy to build. Combined with the heavy 12.7 mm DShK machine gun it gained the ability to defend itself against low-flying aircraft and lightly armored targets and also served as an improvised mobile weapon platform.
Wash the resin parts, cut the casting blocks off and bond them with super glue; protect your airways when sanding. Seat the bed and the frame carefully, so that the geometry of the wheels is right. Paint the vehicle in Soviet protective green and finish by adding mud and dust weathering on the running gear and light chipping of the paint.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
