Electric winches were part of the ordinary deck equipment of warships and were used in handling lines, mooring and cargo. Direct 3D printing captures the small details of the body and the drum more sharply than injection-molded plastic can, and so replaces the less faithful parts from a kit.
Separate the small parts carefully from the print supports and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue. Work with tweezers, protect your airways when sanding and apply a primer before painting.
