The color

The white from the Number 5 range is named after the Honda RA272 racing car. The range is laid out car by car, so a builder can reach straight for a tone in the spirit of the subject. The shade is intended for the bodywork of racing car models and will serve anywhere a clean white surface is needed on another model too.

White on a racing body

White reveals every unfinished spot underneath it, and on open-wheel racing cars that goes double: the body is smooth, with no panels and no windows, so the eye has nothing to catch on and every ripple shows. Smooth the surface carefully before painting, then, and apply a light base. Build the white itself up in thin coats with a pause to dry, because a heavy coat runs into a drop on a rounded shape.

Painting tips

• Fill and sand the joints, as white will not hide them.
• Stir the paint before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom of the jar.
• Work in a dust-free corner, because every speck shows on a white surface.
• Apply racing numbers and colored markings onto a smooth gloss surface.
• Lay masking tape down only on fully hardened paint.

Terms of supply

The paint itself is what is supplied. The model, the base coat, the thinner, the clear coat and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. For thinning, cleaning tools and drying time, follow the manufacturer's details on the packaging. Work in a ventilated room and store the jar carefully closed, out of the reach of children.
