A finished collector's model of the fourth-generation Skoda Octavia RS in 1:43 scale. It is supplied completely assembled and painted in the shade Brilliant Silver metallic, so there is no gluing, no sanding and no spraying. The model is meant for display, not for building. The color finish answers to one of the factory shades offered on this generation of the car, and the shade is precisely what tells the individual variants apart.
The Octavia is the most widespread model of the Czech carmaker, and the fourth generation carried on with its traditional recipe: a lot of room inside and a large luggage compartment in a compact-class body. The RS version stands at the top of the range and sets itself apart with a sportier suspension setting, a more pronounced front bumper and grille, different wheels and trim in a dark gloss finish. It is precisely these features that make the RS a popular subject for collector's models, because they read well even at a small scale.
Metallic paint looks best in diffused light, which brings out the depth of the pigment, and fingerprints cling to it easily. Take the model in your hand by the chassis, therefore, or through a soft cloth. Remove dust with a soft brush, not with a dry rag, which can dull the fine painted surfaces. Do not use solvents, cleaners or polishes on models with a factory finish. The model keeps best in a closed display case out of direct sun, which over time shifts the shade of the paint and the color of the printed detail.
