An accessory for models of British aircraft of the First World War in 1:32 scale. It is not a kit of an aircraft but an interior part on its own: a wicker seat in the form with a full back and without a leather pad on the top edge. According to the name the set includes the short as well as the tall variant, so it covers various types of cockpit.
British aircraft of that time had seats woven from wicker, light, cheap and well ventilated. The woven structure, though, is practically unattainable for injected plastic: the part from the box tends to be either smooth with suggested engraving, or it has a weave so coarse that it merges once it is painted. And yet in an open cockpit in 1:32 scale the seat is one of the first things that are visible. A separately made resin part takes thin walls, openings between the strands and sharp transitions, so the weave looks like a weave and not like engraving. The swap takes a few minutes and transforms the overall impression of the interior more than most other modifications of the same effort.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with a detergent so that the release agent disappears. Separate them from the carrying block with a fine saw, never by breaking, as the thin rods of the weave are fragile. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, in small doses applied with a pin. The painting: a light ocher or straw base, a brown wash over it that will run between the strands and draw the weave out, and finally a dry brush with a paint a shade lighter on the raised places. A matte varnish holds the overall impression of a natural material. Belts for the seat are not part of the set unless it is stated, so reckon with them separately.
This is an accessory, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unpainted, and glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
