Aoshima 1:24 decals for Japanese patrol cars, 2020 release (western Japan) is a sheet of decals for models of patrol cars. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is neither a model nor parts to be glued but a sheet of decals in 1:24 scale. The set is intended for models of Japanese patrol cars and is marked as the release for western Japan. The counterpart for eastern Japan is a separate item, so watch the region in the name when choosing. The number of schemes and the list of prefectures are stated on the box of the set.
Japanese patrol cars are based on production models and what gives them their recognizable look is mainly the two-tone black and white scheme and the lettering. It is precisely these elements that cannot be painted satisfactorily on a model, because only a decal can manage the sharp edges of the type and the fine lines. The sheet therefore turns any matching model into a patrol car without your having to work with masks for lettering.
Decals always belong on a gloss base, as matte paint underneath them produces silvering. Go over the part first with a gloss clear coat and let it cure. Soak the decal in warm water for just a few seconds, move it into place and draw the excess water off with a paper tissue. On shaped areas and transitions use a decal softener, which pulls the decal into the engraved lines. Once dry, spray the whole part with a clear coat of the sheen you want so that the edges of the film disappear. Divide large continuous areas with a scalpel along the engraved lines, otherwise the film ripples.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit. The model, paints and clear coat are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
