This detail set from the Polish brand Aber contains two metal NATO-type antennas including their mounting bases in 1:35 scale. It is a fine accessory for models of modern tanks and armored vehicles that replaces the over-thick plastic antennas from the base kit or adds them where they are missing. It is not a vehicle kit.
Thin metal antennas look far more faithful to scale than plastic and do not break so easily in ordinary handling. The execution captures the characteristic tip of the antenna and the mounting base as well, so the result looks realistic.
Clean the parts of grease and roughen them lightly where they are to be glued. The antennas are set into a drilled hole and bonded with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer for metal before painting; thin antennas airbrush well and benefit from being brought out with light weathering.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
