A set of unpainted figures in 1:72 scale with the subject of Russian warrior monks at artillery of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
Responsibility details are not available.
Russian monasteries were often fortified in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries and in unsettled times they filled the role of fortresses. The surrounding population and supplies sheltered behind the walls, and the defense was led by a garrison to which monks also belonged. That is where the subject of the set comes from: men of religion at the guns, that is figures that resemble an ordinary field crew neither in equipment nor in stance. The artillery of that time stood on wooden carriages and several people were needed to serve it, so the figures naturally compose into one scene.
This is a set of figures in 1:72 scale intended to be built and painted rather than finished painted models. What the package contains exactly, that is how many figures and whether a gun or equipment belongs with them, is given in the enclosed manufacturer's instructions. The set suits a historical diorama with a wall or a gate and can be combined with further figures of the same scale.
Before painting, wash the figures in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry out completely. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down carefully. Choose the glue according to the kind of plastic: a solvent cement for hard polystyrene, while on softer plastics cyanoacrylate holds more reliably. A base coat always pays off with figures. Enliven the dark monastic habit with a lighter highlight on the edges rather than by adding a sheen, otherwise it will merge into a single area.
A set of figures is supplied. Paints, glue, primer and a base are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
