A set of elements for the Martin-Baker ejection seats of the F-4 Phantom II in 1:48 scale, supplied as decals and intended for machines of both the US Air Force and the US Navy. On a model with an open canopy the seat is the best-seen place in the whole cockpit, and yet it is usually the kit part that is simplified exactly in the small things, that is in the straps, buckles and lettering.
The F-4 Phantom II was a two-seat jet combat aircraft that served at the same time with the US Air Force, the US Navy and the US Marine Corps and became one of the most widespread Western machines of its generation. The crew sat in tandem and both positions were fitted with Martin-Baker ejection seats.
Elements of this kind are usually applied as wet decals: level the surface underneath with gloss varnish, cut the motif close to the printing, dip it briefly in lukewarm water, slide it off the backing paper onto its place and settle it with a soft brush. Blot the surplus water away and leave the joint alone to dry. Before you soak the sheet, though, check the instructions to see whether it is a self-adhesive version. A soaked self-adhesive film is ruined for good, whereas an unsoaked wet decal can still be soaked later.
The kit, paints, varnishes and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
