The set is listed as a version for early machines, that is as a narrower variant alongside the general belt sets of the same period.
The Fokker Dr.I is a single-seat fighter triplane from the end of the First World War with an open cockpit. The space around the seat is very well seen when the model is displayed in the usual way, and at the same time it is small, so every detail carries weight. In such a cockpit the belts are usually the most conspicuous element. The early designation means that the set aims at the earlier form of the equipment, not at later machines; if you are building a particular machine, compare the designation of the set with the variant you are building. The manufacturer makes more belt sets for aircraft of this period, including sets for other Fokker types, so choose by the exact designation and the scale.
Paint the interior and the seat, let them dry and overcoat them with gloss varnish, otherwise a silvery veil will form under the decal. Release the decal in warm water and transfer it with a brush without pressure. Dose the softener from above drop by drop, let it work by itself and leave the decal undisturbed for at least 45 minutes; running a brush over it wrinkles the relief layer. Let the ends of the belts overhang freely and shape them only once they have begun to set. When dry, unify with matte varnish. On a triplane the timing is crucial: finish the cockpit before you fit the middle and upper wings, because afterwards you will hardly reach into it.
