Responsibility details are not available.
Color decals of instrument panels for the early Spitfire versions. A panel from this period has no screens at all but a dense group of circular dials in a dark frame, which is exactly the kind of detail that is very hard to paint with a brush. The set is an accessory for a kit in 1:48 scale; it is not a model and not a resin replacement cockpit.
According to the name, it covers the panels of the Mk.I, Mk.II and Mk.V versions, that is machines with a piston engine and classic circular instrumentation. On early Spitfires under construction you can therefore work from a single set. Kits-World makes Spitfire instrument panels in several sets with very similar wording in their names, so it is worth checking the exact designation and the list of versions in advance; choose by the mark of the machine you are building.
Sand the kit panel smooth; on a Spitfire the dials tend to be molded fairly deep, so sanding takes more time than on jet machines, but it is worth it. Then comes the dark base, which gives the decal colors their depth, and gloss varnish as an interlayer. Settle the decal and, before you fix it down, align it with the cutout for the gunsight. Softener drop by drop, no brushing, and leave the decal undisturbed for at least 45 minutes. When it is dry, matte varnish goes onto the panel surface; leave out the dial glazing and, if you like, put a drop of clear gloss varnish on it, which gives the impression of glazed instruments.
The box holds decals only. It does not include the kit, paints, varnish or decal softener.
