The Fw 190D-13 is one of the late variants of the D series, that is of the long-nose Doras. Compared with the earlier Focke-Wulfs they had a more drawn-out nose and different balance, and because they came into being at the very end of the war they are still a rewarding subject for modelers looking for a less usual version of a well-known aircraft.
The instrument panel is the most visible thing in the cockpit and painting it by hand in 1:48 scale costs a disproportionate amount of time: nothing but small dials, needles and lettering. The set offers them finished, in color and with a raised relief, so the cockpit can be brought to a close in a single evening and still looks better than anything that can be painted on this surface with a brush.
Clean and degrease the base, transfer the element with tweezers and press it down with a soft stick so that it seats over the whole area and no air is left under it. Check the method of attachment in the manufacturer's instructions before you start work. The method of application differs between the individual lines, and the instructions with the set say how the element is fixed to the part and what tools to have ready for it.
For builders of a Focke-Wulf with an open cockpit who do not want to spend evenings painting dials. It will also suit a modeler who does not trust himself with the fine lettering by brush or whose eyes are no longer up to it. Please check the fit with your kit against the manufacturer's instructions. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
