This set from Kits-World is intended for the Martin-Baker Mk.5 ejection seat in 1:72 scale. They are full-color decals with a raised relief that take the place of painting the harness by hand. The item is listed by the type of seat rather than by the aircraft, which is usual with seats, because the same type was carried by a whole range of machines. Before buying, therefore, compare the shape of the seat in your kit with the illustration on the packaging.
Martin-Baker is a British maker of ejection seats, and its individual seat marks differ from one another in the shape of the backrest, the head box and the layout of the firing handles. The harness consists of shoulder and lap straps with metal buckles. On a model it is the most colorful element of the whole cockpit: light straps against dark padding and the black structure of the seat.
Most of the work is spoiled in the last few minutes. A decal placed on the seat is at first held only by a thin layer of adhesive and water: any touch of a finger, moving the model or a stroke of the brush will shift or tear it at that moment. Put the seat aside and leave it alone for several hours, ideally overnight. Only once it is completely dry should you check the edges, add softener if need be and finally unify the surface with matte varnish.
This is a decal set, not a kit and not a finished model. The seat is not included in the package.
