A printed sheet 225 x 225 mm showing the surface of RAF Marham air base in the county of Norfolk as it has been since 2018. It is intended as a base under models in 1:144 scale; it is neither a kit nor a decal.
With its open dating from 2018 onwards, this base differs from the wartime and Cold War motifs in the same range: it captures the present state of the airfield surface. Modern paved areas are markedly cleaner and more regular than older ones, the paving is continuous, the markings fresh and their layout matches the regulations in force today. For a modeler that means the scene will look empty and technically exact, which is precisely what modern machines need; overdone weathering would do such a surface no favors.
It fits British machines in service from the end of the second decade of this century onwards best. In 1:144 scale, an area 225 millimeters on a side will take one combat aircraft with plenty of free space, or two smaller machines side by side. If you want a larger scene, the base can be joined with another sheet in the same scale; running on into a grass area or into another paved stretch is the simplest way of enlarging a scene.
This is a printed base for a model. The model itself, glue and paints are not part of the delivery.
