Injection-molded plastic kit of the Curtiss C-46D Air National Guard in 1:72 scale from Valom, with photo-etch and resin engines.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the large American twin-engined transport aircraft in 1:72 scale from Valom. It is a short-run kit which, according to the manufacturer, is rounded out by photo-etched parts, resin engines and decals for two Air National Guard machines of the 1950s. With its span the assembled model is one of the larger pieces for the display case.
The Curtiss C-46 Commando was an American twin-engined transport aircraft with a capacious fuselage, known above all for the supply flights over the Himalayas in the Second World War. The C-46D version was intended for carrying personnel and paratroopers and had an additional cargo door. After the war the Commando flew for a long time with the American National Guard and with a number of civil carriers.
Use thin cement for plastic and glue the photo-etched and resin parts with cyanoacrylate; wash the mold release agent off the resin engines before building and cut off the casting blocks. This is a short-run kit, so reckon with more careful cleaning up of the parts and possibly with filling. Lay down a primer before painting and apply the colors with an airbrush; on natural metal schemes metallizer paints over a smooth surface work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
