1:48 BAC Jet Provost T.51/T.52 is a Peewit masking set for spraying the glazing of a model of the British jet trainer.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set from the Czech manufacturer Peewit in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an aircraft but an accessory: shaped templates with which the clear areas of a model are covered during spraying. The Jet Provost has a large, well-glazed canopy with a dense division of frames, so on it the difference between masking by hand and a ready-made set shows at a glance.
The Jet Provost is a British two-seat jet trainer that came about by reworking the piston-engine Provost type for jet power. Seats side by side made training from the very beginning easier, and that is why the type served for many years as the basic trainer. The designations T.51 and T.52 belong to the export forms delivered to foreign users; they are derived from the trainer versions used in Britain and differ mainly in equipment and in the ability to carry light armament.
Never take hold of clear parts with bare fingers; the grease from skin holds under a mask and under paint alike. Stick the masks on only after the parts have been polished and, if you like, dipped in a clear varnish, which clears the glazing. With a large canopy it pays to cover the inside with pieces of foam or damp paper, so that no overspray gets inside. Spray the color of the frames first in the shade of the interior, then in the outer shade; the frame then looks right from both sides.
This is an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
