A display base gives finished work a frame. A model standing on a bare table comes across as an isolated object, whereas on a base it gets an area its size can be related to, and the whole scene looks complete. The practical gain is just as great: the model is carried by the base, so you do not have to touch it when moving it to a display case or to a competition, and in the case it then stays in one place and does not shift about.
The base is meant for models in 1:48 scale and its motif is tied to the Luftwaffe. Two pieces are supplied. The dimensions, the material and how the pieces are intended to go together are given by the manufacturer.
Before you stand the model on it, wipe the dust off the base and check that it lies flat, because even a slight waviness shows in a photograph. Standing the model on it is usually enough, and if you want to anchor it, use tiny drops of gel cyanoacrylate or double-sided tape, which can be taken apart again later. The transition between the model and the surface is helped along by a fine layer of pigment where the model meets the surface. Fill the arrangement out with figures or small accessories, but leave free space around the model, so that the scene does not look crowded.
The model, the figures, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
