Imitations of the observation devices for the Zvezda BMPT T-15 model in 1:35. The set offers a blue and a yellow pattern, so that the vision blocks and the heads of the optics stop reading as matte plastic and start behaving like glass.

Vision blocks and lenses are among the items the eye sees first on a finished model. Molded plastic, though, is opaque and stays flat even after careful painting. This set deals with exactly that difference: it replaces the look of the observation devices of the BMPT T-15 with a clear face that reflects light and changes shade with the angle of view.
The division by color has a practical point. The blue shade matches optics with a color cast, while the yellow suits places where a different tint of the cover glass should be apparent. On one model you can thus tell several types of device apart without reaching for paint. The set is prepared for the particular BMPT T-15 kit from Zvezda, because the placing and shape of the vision blocks differ from model to model.
Leave the optics for the very end of the build
The most common mistake is fitting the clear items early. The approach that has proved itself: first finish the painting, the decals, the clear coat transition and the weathering, and only then seat the optics on a finished model. You save yourself the masking and there is no risk that a clean face, dusted over with pigment, is irreversibly clouded. Work over a light surface, as small parts like to fly off, and clear faces are very hard to find on a carpet.
