A flat brush from the High Grade II modeling range of the Japanese brand Tamiya, size Small. It is not a paint nor a kit but a working tool: the flat cut of the hair holds paint in a continuous stroke and is meant where an evenly covered surface matters, not a touch with the tip. The hair is synthetic, so it copes well with the thinners in everyday modeling use and washes out easily after work. The High Grade II range offers flat brushes in several sizes, and Small is the middle one among the small ones — for parts of a fuselage, hull roofs, engine blocks, bases and larger details on figures.
Do not take paint right up to the metal ferrule, or the paint will dry inside it and the hair will splay. After work, wash the brush with the matching thinner — water or acrylic thinner for acrylics, mineral spirits for enamels — then rinse it in water with detergent, shape the hair back with your fingers and let it dry with the hair up or lying flat. Never leave a brush standing hair down in a jar.
Paints, thinners and cleaning agents are not included in the package.
