A turned metal 88 mm KwK 43/3 gun barrel and a resin standard mantlet for the Henschel turret of the Pz.Kpfw. VI King Tiger in 1:35 scale from PANZER ART. An accessory for refining a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set from PANZER ART for a model of the German Pz.Kpfw. VI King Tiger heavy tank in 1:35 scale. It contains a turned metal gun barrel for the long 88 mm KwK 43/3 gun and a resin standard mantlet for the series-production Henschel turret. It is an aftermarket accessory for plastic King Tiger models, not the tank kit itself.
The King Tiger (Tiger II) was the heaviest German tank put into series service in the Second World War, with massive frontal armor and the long 88 mm KwK 43 gun with an L/71 barrel. Most machines carried the series-production Henschel turret with its angled front, which replaced the earlier rounded turret. The standard mantlet and the accurate long barrel belong to the defining elements of the tank's appearance.
Before building, wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent to remove the remains of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutter and clean the surfaces up with abrasive paper, with respiratory protection. Bond the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The turned metal gun barrel has a perfectly straight axis with no casting seams and a muzzle drilled to depth, so once painted it looks more realistic than a plastic barrel. Before filler and paint we recommend setting the parts dry and checking that the mantlet seats properly in the opening in the turret of the base model. The set is intended for the series-production Henschel turret; do not confuse it with the earlier rounded turret.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The tank model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
