This set is an accessory for a kit, not a model of a vehicle. It replaces the tracks supplied in the box with tracks of hard plastic, which hold both shape and paint better. The set is treated as so-called quick assembly: it combines individual links for the curved parts around the drive sprocket and the idler wheel with longer ready-made runs for the straight parts of the track above and below. Thanks to that the build is considerably faster than with a track assembled piece by piece.
The British Centurion was a postwar main battle tank which stayed in service for decades and went through a series of modernizations; the types of track changed along the way. The designation Hush Puppy belongs to one of the variants of track used on vehicles of this series. For a modeler that means one thing, but an important one: the track is a part by which the version of the vehicle can be recognized, and replacing the track is one of the simplest ways to bring a model closer to the real subject. Before buying, check that this variant of track matches the version of the Centurion you are building.
First clean up all the flash and sprue marks carefully, especially on the inner side of the links, where the track touches the rollers. Glue the longer runs with liquid cement for plastic and let them become tacky on the model, so that a natural sag forms; only then add the curved parts from individual links. Painting is easier if you finish the track separately and fit it only once the running gear is done. A proven procedure is a dark base, a wash into the detail, a metallic sheen with a dry brush on the bearing faces of the teeth and earthy pigments to suit the setting in which you will display the model.
The set holds only tracks, not a model of a vehicle. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
