The kit in 1:72 scale belongs to the range of hypothetical German equipment that was never built. The designation in the name describes a machine intended for support in night conditions, built on the basis of the E-50 project series. The model is injection-molded from polystyrene and is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Check the particular equipment for night operation and the contents of the package on the packaging.
No actual machine of this type existed; it is a design in the spirit of alternative history. Only the E-50 designation is real, which belonged to a planned standardization of late German production into several weight classes and remained at the stage of project work. The task of night support itself was real as well: equipment for fighting in darkness really was developed and was dealt with by illumination in the part of the spectrum that is not visible and by the corresponding observation devices, which made it possible to aim at a target without giving one's own position away. The model therefore works with a real operational problem, but in a fictional form. We describe the design and the build, not history, because no deployment took place.
The procedure is the same as with the other machines of this range: first the running gear and the load-bearing parts, then the superstructure, and the small fittings at the end. Try the stance dry on a flat board, so that the machine stands firmly. Glue the searchlights and the clear parts, if they are included, with a low-fume cyanoacrylate glue or with a cement for glazing, otherwise they will go cloudy. A night subject tempts one to a dark coloring, but the model then loses its outlines in a display case. It is better to leave the base a shade lighter and to create the depth with a wash and shadows in the gaps. Bring the edges out with a dry brush and keep the patina fine, matching the small scale.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
