Achilles is the central figure of the Greek myths of the Trojan War and the best known warrior of the whole story. His appearance has no single binding model: actual depictions survive only from later vase painting and sculpture, so artists reach for the helmet, shield and armor that go with that setting. The bust captures the figure from the chest up, that is, where the face and the helmet carry the main weight.
A bust in 1:10 scale intended to be glued together and painted. The number of parts, the material and the recommended procedure can be found in the manufacturer's instructions. Use an adhesive suitable for the material of the parts; with figure models super glue is the usual choice.
Try the parts dry first and look over the joints: at the helmet and the shoulders they are usually the most visible, and it pays to fill and sand them before you start painting. Wash and degrease the surface and spray it with a primer. The metal of the armor calls for a different approach than the skin, so plan the order in advance: the large metal areas first, the face and the fine transitions only afterwards. Apply the paint thinly and build the shades in layers, otherwise the modeling of the face will be lost. Finally choose the varnish according to the surface, matte on skin and cloth, glossier where metal is meant to be.
The bust will be appreciated by a modeler who works on figures and wants a subject that does not tie him to documentation: with a mythical figure you choose the color scheme yourself. At the same time the 1:10 size allows the eyes and the surface of the metal to be worked out. Paints, glue and a base are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
