The CFM56-7B engine in 1:144 scale as an accessory for building an airliner. The CFM56-7B is a turbofan engine that powers the Boeing 737 Next Generation family, and its nacelle is one of the few places on a model where even in this small scale the shape of the intake, the bypass duct and the exhaust cone can be seen.
Engine nacelles tend to be simplified in kits in 1:144 scale, because they are molded in two halves and the intake lip has to have a certain wall thickness. An accessory nacelle makes it possible to have a thin-walled and circular intake, so once fitted the model looks more faithful from every angle.
The parts are not polystyrene, so they are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut off surplus material with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the remainder; on a circular intake lip work in small steps and keep checking the shape against the light. Wash and degrease the parts before painting.
For the builder of airliners in 1:144 scale who wants engines more accurate than the base kit offers, or who is converting a model to a different engine variant.
This is an accessory set. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
