A resin accessory set from LACI in 1:144 scale, intended for a model of the Airbus A320neo with the CFM LEAP-1A engine option. The parts replace the sections supplied in the plastic kit and make it possible to build the aircraft in the state in which you see it on approach to landing - with the high-lift devices opened out. The set is not a model in itself and assumes that you already have the base kit.
In flight an airliner has a smooth, closed wing and on a display model it looks flat. On approach, though, the profile opens out, the devices run back and down and the silhouette changes completely. It is precisely this state that gives an airliner model the most life, but injection-molded plastic offers it only exceptionally - thin edges are difficult to make in a mold. A resin casting can hold them far finer in such a small scale. The engine designation in the name matters here: the A320neo comes with two engine options and the LEAP-1A nacelles have a different shape and size from the competing solution, so the set has to suit exactly the one you have.
First wash the castings in warm water with detergent, because otherwise primer will not stay on residue of mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a disc rather than breaking them, and finish the surface by damp sanding with breathing protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Do not skimp on the dry trial - the trailing edge of the wing usually has to be thinned, so that the parts follow on at the right angle. It can be painted with ordinary modeling paints once primer has been sprayed on.
The set contains resin parts and is supplied unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
