A resin accessory set from LACI in 1:144 scale for a model of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 powered by CFM LEAP-1B engines. The parts replace the sections supplied in the plastic kit and make it possible to build the aircraft with the high-lift devices opened out, that is as it looks on approach to landing. A model of the airplane is not part of the package - the set assumes a base kit.
The 737 MAX series differs from the previous generation above all in its powerplant. The LEAP-1B engine has a markedly higher bypass ratio and a larger fan diameter, so the nacelle had to move up and forward ahead of the wing; also typical is the flattened bottom of the intake, which deals with the low ground clearance of the landing gear. The MAX 8 version is the basic and most widespread member of the series. The high-lift devices of the wing are particular to this generation, so the set is not interchangeable with accessories for the older 737s.
Wash the castings in warm water with detergent, so that the mold release agent disappears and primer holds. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc and sand the surface damp with breathing protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Always try dry how the parts follow on - the trailing edge of the wing usually has to be thinned. Once primer has been sprayed on, it is painted with ordinary modeling paints; with airliner schemes a gloss base under the decals helps.
The set contains resin parts and is supplied unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
