This is not a model of the motorcycle, but a detailing part for one. The set addresses a single place on a model of the racing Honda RC211V in 1:12 scale, the clutch on the side of the engine in the specification matching the first two seasons of the machine, that is, 2002 and 2003. The Honda RC211V was a five-cylinder racing machine entering the new thousand-cc category, and its clutch basket is among the visually most prominent elements of the power unit.
What the set addresses
On racing machines the clutch is visible through a cutout in the fairing, and on a model displayed without the side panels it is exposed in full. Injection-molded plastic manages to suggest the outline of the basket, but not the space between the plates, the thin edges and the structure that the real part has. A replacement raises this assembly without having to intervene in the rest of the engine.
First check whether the original plastic part can be removed without damaging the engine block, and level the sanded place flat. The set is small, so bond it with super glue and apply it with a toothpick, not straight from the bottle. Deal with the painting off the model: a base, a metallic shade according to the nature of the part and a fine dark wash in the recesses stand out most on paint applied in thin coats. A heavy coat of paint floods the fine structure and the whole effect disappears. Fit the part at the very end of the engine build, so that you do not knock it off while handling the model.
This is an accessory to a model, not a kit of the motorcycle. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
